THE CROSSING
The Límits Baix Camp route is a 129 km route with 4,000 meters of positive elevation gain, which follows the mountains that make up the visual limit of our region, the Baix Camp, as they can be seen from the Reus bell tower.
As it is a circular route, it must be completed with the outward journey to its foot, in Selva del Camp, and also along the coast, from Hospitalet de l'Infant following the GR-92 to Vilafortuny. From there, it is returned by roads to Reus.
Stage 1/
We leave Reus from Plaça de Sant Pere, at the foot of the bell tower, at an altitude of 124 meters. We cross the city center along Carrer Major, Monterols and Llovera, passing through Plaça de la Llibertat, and we leave Reus through the Munta i Baixa area towards Almoster.
We continue towards Selva del Camp, where we find the first major climb towards Sant Pere de la Selva. We continue along a rounded ridge to Puig d'en Cama (717 m), and then descend along the Camí dels Ancianus to Coll de la Batalla.
Ahead of us is the steep climb towards Mussara, passing through the Roure spring, the antennas and the Tipasso pass, where we reach 1,000 meters of altitude. Finally, we continue to the Mussara refuge, where we consider the first stage to be over.
Stage 2/
We continue towards the village of Mussara and, gliding over Mas de Peiró, we arrive at Punta del Sec. We continue towards Els Castillejos and descend to the Coll d'Alforja.
From there, we have to follow the beautiful mountain range that, passing by Pic del Mirador (or Motllor) and the Cortiella pass, leads us to Miranda de Puigcerver, very close to the hermitage, the end of the second stage.
Stage 3/
We set off between windmills, with a descent to the Teixeta pass. Then, a steep climb awaits us towards the Argentera (or Pradell) mountain range, which we traverse from end to end. We pass through Enderrocada and, once again surrounded by windmills, we arrive at the Roig pass, at the foot of the Mola de Colldejou.
We climb the scree and descend following the GR to the Coll del Guix. From here, with a new and demanding climb, we reach La Miranda and enter the spectacular Sierra de Llaberia. We continue towards La Creu and Mont-redon, and then descend along the ridges of La Seda towards Pratdip - perhaps the most technical or complicated section of the entire trek.
Pratdip is the end of this third stage.
Stage 4/
We climb towards the Pic de Cabrafiga via Pas del Gos and descend towards the Dòvia ravine. From there, we continue along paths until we reach the Llastres river and Masriudoms.
We climb towards the Puntal pass, next to Mola del Nadell. We pass through an equipped section (which can be avoided by following a path to the right) and descend towards Hospitalet de l'Infant, with the last climb ahead.
We travel along the entire ridge of the Rojala mountain range and descend to the islet and the beach of Torn, where we touch the Mediterranean Sea. We follow the GR-92 until we return to l'Hospitalet, the final point of this fourth stage.
Stage 5/
We leave Miami Platja and follow the coast towards Cambrils until we reach Vilafortuny, where we leave the GR-92 and say goodbye to the coast. From here, we continue through housing estates and paths until we reach the Aigüesverds golf course, now very close to Reus.
We enter the city through the sanctuary of Misericòrdia, continue through the neighborhood of Robuster and arrive again at the foot of the bell tower of Plaça de Sant Pere, where we put an end to the fifth stage and the entire Travessa Límits Baix Camp.
